Robbert van Renesse is a Research Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University, and currently Chair of ACM SIGOPS and Associate Editor for ACM Computing Surveys. His research interests include the practice and theory of distributed systems, particularly their fault tolerance, scalability, and security aspects.
